Beautiful Gift:  How I Found My Son In The Afterlife

Picture
I was sitting in the driver’s seat of my daughter’s car, my cell phone in one hand and a pen and my small journal in the other.  I was staying with my daughter and son in Scottsdale, Arizona, during our first holiday season without my son Brandon, who had passed away almost a year ago.  I was devastated by my son’s death, and as soon as he passed I knew I wanted to try to find him in the afterlife, but it had taken me a year to locate a medium that I wanted to make an appointment with.  With some trepidation, I called and made the appointment.  Now, a month later, I was about to call Jamie Butler, a clairvoyant and clairaudient medium in Atlanta.

I felt totally apprehensive about what I was going to hear and learn. I didn’t know what to expect or how a meeting with a medium worked, but I was determined to find my son again. I had always believed in the afterlife and that we go on, but this was the very first time I had ever attempted to contact a loved one who had passed. I was shaking when I dialed the number.  I heard the phone ring a couple of times. “Hello,” Jamie answered, in a voice that was so sweet and soothing it put me at ease.

We began talking. It didn’t take long for me to start pouring out my reason for calling, being careful not to give away too much information. I wanted to be sure that Jamie was a person with the real rare gift of what used to be called second sight.

“Is my son there?” I said with some urgency.  I remember feeling so excited that I might possibly hear from him.
“Yes,” Jamie said, “he is.” Then she went on to say, “I see a gun. Is that what caused your son’s death?”
“Yes!” I said my eyes welling up with tears. “Is he okay?”

And then Jamie said something that was the first of many messages from my son that convinced me it was really him talking, through her, to me.  “He’s saying, ‘Oh Mom, I’m so happy that you’ve reached out to me this way so I can tell you that I’m fine.” And then he said, “I’m so sorry, it was a stupid accident.” Jamie said she saw him on his knees as if he was begging for forgiveness.

Beautiful Gift: How I Found My Son in the Afterlife is the story of my son’s death and my journey through grief, of how I found him in the afterlife and where finding him took me and my family.
